Thanks for sharing, I needed to hear this today. I also have a huge problem with legalism and it keeps me away from God. In the past, when I have read these verses, I have always thought of the weakness as being due to external conflicts such as illness or difficult times. Thinking of this verse in terms of inner conflicts, like temptation and my own legalistic thought processes is freeing. If He is saying that His power is made perfect by my weakness "internally" and that His grace is sufficient to cover this..then I can talk to Him about it i.e. pray, and not hide from Him, separating myself further from Him, which in itself is sin.
Thanks again, this theme has been coming up alot the last few days from various sources, like He is knocking at my door requesting time with me..think I will pray now:)

My Pastor gave the church a study to do on "my grace is sufficient", and I searched it online, and found you. This is absolutely beautiful. What an in depth way to understand Gods Word. Thank you so very much for posting this. It hs truly touched me.

Thanks for sharing, Kim. God's grace never fails to amaze me. For example, it's amazing to me how God uses my thoughts and struggles to deliver a message to another one of His children, in this case, you. This reminds me of the many people who have benefited from the struggles on Paul in the above passage. It not only amazes me when I see God working through my words but it humbles me and encourages me. It allows me to experience God's amazing grace again through your comment. Thank you for sharing. Isn't God wonderful? Praise the LORD.

Thanks for sharing. I don't know why I didn't reply to this comment earlier since usually try to reply right away so there is a kind of discussion going on (which very often encourages me).

Anyway, I completely understand what you are saying. My understanding of God's amazing grace in relation to my legalistic tendency has completely revolutionized my spiritual life. Even though I fail many times I am able to continue my forward progress toward deeper intimacy with God. Gradually, I can see the struggles with temptation and legalism being replaced with the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control (Galatians 5:22-23) as the Holy Spirit molds me and forms me into the "Tim" God wants me to be. Much like a sculptor chips away all the excess marble till what is left is the sculpture as he saw it in his mind. I am thankful the Holy Spirit is still working on me and that He sees more fruit that He can harvest in my life. Praise the LORD, for He is good. Thanks, again, for sharing.

I've often said those words to myself 'My Grace is Sufficient for you' during some of my lowest moments. Today when I Heard myself saying to myself again, I decided to look up what it really meant to St Paul then.

I really like what you have written, especially the part where you say 'since you cannot come to me without sin on your own, I will come to you and make you complete, you will be spotless and pure because of my grace '

Thank God for His' Amazing Love and Amazing Grace. Thank GOd for using you to minister to me at my low momento today.

Thank you for sharing. It always encourages me to know God has used what I have written to speak to someone. God is truly amazing, isn't He? May our LORD bless you and keep you and your family in His loving care.

Hello, and THANK you for this article. I was researching "My Grace is Sufficient for you" and found this. You know how some things will "speak" to you? Well your writing did. I appreciate your openness and sharing. I especially loved the next to the last paragraph and printed it out for future reference. May God continue to bless you in many ways. Sharon

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and share how God spoke to you through this blog post. I am encouraged to hear how God used this in your life. God is amazing and his grace is incredible. I pray God will bless you and continue to reveal his truth to you as you seek to know Him more and more. Tim

Hi Tim, Thank you so much for explaining this verse in a way I can understand. I often think that I am the one responsible for "maintaining" my salvation and become despondant and depressed and tormented when I can't get out of sins or stop sinning in certain areas. I chastise myself, allow fear and anxiety to control me knowing I am once again unable to please God with any kind of perfect love. Thank you for reminding me that HE is in control, that He is bigger than my sins, and greater than my heart and He knows everything. His grace is sufficient for me. Thank you for your love of God. Jacqui

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. It is encouraging to hear from others who share the same problems, but, even more encouraging to hear from people who share the same solution. Our relationship with God is the solution for all of us. We are made righteous because through Jesus we are in a "right" relationship with God, not by anything we have done but by the amazing grace of God.

God bless you Jacqui and your family.

I was sexually, mentally, emotionally and verbally abused by my grandfather as far back as I can remember. He did many terrible things, some of which are too distasteful for me to talk about publicly. I want to share my testimony, because so many people have been hurt, and they need to realize that someone has made it through their struggles so they can have hope. More than anything, I want you to know and really understand that anyone who has been abused can fully recover if they will give their life completely to the Lord...It may seem impossible, but God's truth has set me free from a life of pretense and lies and has restored my soul. I am living proof that nothing is too hard for God. No matter what you've been through or how bad you've been hurt, there is hope!
My book is available at Amazon and I would love for each person who has liked this page to order a copy. Each copy sold will go toward the prevention of child abuse across the country and world. To order a copy of, The Little Girl Inside, go to dianewaltman.com God Bless you

Thanks for sharing and standing against these forms of abuse. They are truly an epidemic in our society. Sharing your story with others is an important way to help others while, at the same time, helping yourself heal. I pray for God's blessings on you and your efforts to serve God. I will be praying for you.
